Kanjeevaram comes from a place called Kanchipuram, in TamilNadu and hence the name. Made from finest of silk yarn, these sarees come in varied colours and designs. The sarees have a GI (Geaograohical indication). Woven from pure mulberry silk, the sarees are woven in 2 parts , body and borders. The borders are later attached by hand delicately and with expertise. A zigzag line often shows at the borders indicating this process.
