Chanderi sarees and their history go back into the 7th century. They are woven in the town of Chanderi and hence the name. They are made in cotton, silk and silk cotton yarn. The traditional Chanderi saree has peacock motifs or flower motifs. With modernisation spreading every where, the weavers are now incorporatinf different patterns like geometric designs too.
